GARDEN SETTING

Deck-side border

This project is an illustrative brief using stock photography. It does not describe a completed Greenfold commission.

The brief

Bring seasonal colour close to the sitting area without allowing vigorous plants to take over the deck. The planting should remain easy to reach for routine care.

Scope of work

Check light, soil moisture and drainage before final plant selection. Prepare the bed, repeat a small number of plants and allow for mature width along the timber edge. Mulch exposed soil after watering.

Keeping it in shape

Trim encroaching growth from the deck edge. Divide spreading plants when they outgrow the space, and leave suitable seed heads through winter before the spring cutback.
