The brief
Preserve the enclosed feel of the garden while making the route through it comfortable to use. Plants can spill softly toward the path without hiding its edge.
Scope of work
Identify the plants before pruning. Remove damaged growth, lift low branches where needed and cut back only the plants obstructing the route. Weed the gravel by hand around established roots.
Keeping it in shape
Recheck the route as summer growth fills out. Time pruning to each plant’s flowering season and leave healthy cover where it supports the garden’s structure.
